FOCUS GROUPS
Have you ever visited a play or nature area and felt out of place, like it wasn’t created with you or your family members in mind? Or maybe you don’t go to play areas or other natural outdoor spaces because they don’t feel safe and welcoming?
If so, we invite you to join Wild Bear Nature Center in our efforts to break down barriers to accessing the outdoors - specifically the nature playscape we will have at our NEW nature center.
We’re excited to share that the Colorado Health Foundation believes in our vision to make this an inclusive and accessible space and has provided funding for a public input process that involves people of diverse races, cultures, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and socio-economic status in our nature center design and planning.
We want to hear YOUR input, thoughts, and ideas about how to design this space in a way that is welcoming and accessible to everyone!
PLEASE APPLY TO PARTICIPATE IN ONE OF OUR FOCUS GROUPS.
Each focus group will consist of 10-12 individuals who are passionate about creating inclusive outdoor spaces, and who hold intersecting identities that have been traditionally marginalized in the outdoors.
THE COMMITMENT:
Each group will meet 4 times for the duration of 1.5 hours per session.
In person focus group members will be compensated with a $150 gift card for their feedback, opinions, knowledge, and insights on options for our new nature playscape design.
Virtual focus group members will be compensated with a $120 gift card.
Snacks will be provided during each session.
Child care and translation services are available upon request.
